Standing Up for Safety, Equality and Belonging HAPANI works to remove the systemic barriers that prevent refugees, asylum seekers and migrant communities from fully participating in society. Our approach combines trusted, culturally competent frontline support with strong advocacy, research and policy influence.

Practical Support that Builds Power

Through our Drop-In Support Centre, we provide a full range of free, accessible, culturally sensitive services, including:

  • Advice & Advocacy
    One-to-one guidance on housing, welfare, benefits,Universal Credit and rights
  • Health Access
    Support to register with GPs, navigate hospitals and access trauma-informed mental health and wellbeing services
  • Financial Health & Digital Inclusion
    Help with budgeting, accessing Wi- Fi, devices, SIM cards and online systems
  • Crisis Support
    Immediate assistance for people with no recourse to public funds or facing serious hardship

Driving Systemic Change

We champion voices and experiences through our LEAP (Lived Experience Advocacy Project)

    Direct engagement with government departments, councils and advisory groups to shape fairer policies
  • Public Consultations
    Accessible consultation events enabling refugees to participate directly in decision-making
  • Cultural Competency Training
    Helping organizations understand cultural context and best practices in inclusion

    Partnering with universities to generate evidence and influence policy with lived-experience
